A business model is a framework for the creation of economic, social and / or other value. The term “business model” is used for a wide range of informal and formal descriptions that represent core aspects of a business, including purpose, offerings, strategies, infrastructure, organizational structures, business practices, and policies and operational processes.

Operational processes which constitute the core business and create the primary value stream. Typical operational processes are purchasing, manufacturing, marketing, and sales.
Support processes which support the core processes. Examples include accounting, recruiting, and technical support.
A business process can be broken down into multiple threads, which have their own attributes, but also contribute to achieving the goal of the super process. Business process analysis generally includes process and sub-process mapping down to the activity level. A business process model is a model of one or more business processes and defines the ways in which operations are carried out to achieve the intended objectives of an organization. Such a model remains an abstraction and depends on the intended use of the model. It can describe the workflow or the integration between business processes. It can be built on multiple levels.
A workflow is a representation of a sequence of operations, declared as the work of a person, of a simple or complex mechanism, of a group of people, [5] of an organization of personnel or machines. Workflow can be viewed as any actual work abstraction, segregated into shared work, division of labor, or other type of order. For control purposes, the workflow can be a view of the actual work in a chosen aspect.
